1A is the ground-floor studio, so it is the shortest carry with a suitcase in the house — the only one you reach without climbing to another floor. Inside, a king bed sits beneath a mezzanine reached by a short green staircase, and a second king waits on the loft above, behind railings painted the same red as the mirror frame.

The sitting end is arranged around a deep green leather sofa and a mirror in a red scalloped frame that doubles the light coming through the French glazed doors. The pendant over it is a folk-art print shade — Hàng Trống figures, lit from within after dark.

The kitchen corner is a proper one: hob, fridge, open shelves of glasses, and a small round table with two bentwood chairs pulled up to a tall shuttered window. Parking is at the gate, and airport pickup can be arranged for a fee.
